Two Weeks Until the Seward Music & Arts Festival!

The Seward Music and Arts Festival is thrilled to announce another musical soiree! There will be live music and dance performances, with local-Alaskan artisan craft and food vendors featured. The festival is an exciting conclusion to the busy summer season that appeals to local Alaskans and remaining visitors alike!

Friday, October 5, 2018 – 5pm – 12:30am
Saturday, October 6, 2018 – 12pm – 12:30am
Sunday, October 7, 2018 – 12pm – 5:00pm

Our festival continues its commitment to youth involvement, education, and creative inspiration; as well as a low environmental impact philosophy. The Seward Arts Council promotes a family-oriented festival with children’s activities and artist’s projects throughout the weekend.

The festival is held at the Dale R. Lindsey Alaska Railroad Intermodal Facility – a heated, indoor venue. Attendees will enjoy a diverse food court, beer garden, and community art show in addition to 20+ live musical acts and dance performances. Tickets can be purchased in advance, or at the door. The 2018 theme is ‘Wilderness – Inspired by the Art of Rockwell Kent.’

Are you interested in earning free entry, free SMAF gear and free beverage tickets (21+ only)? Volunteer to help out at SMAF! All volunteer shifts are 4-hours long.  Signing up for one shift will earn you free admission for one day.  Signing up for two or more shifts will earn you free admission for the weekend, beer tickets (21+) and a SMAF t-shirt.  If you have even more time to volunteer, the rewards get even sweeter, just ask! We’re most in need of swampers and of folks to help us breakdown after the festival on Sunday evening. If you’re interested in finding out more about volunteering please visit the SMAF Volunteer Page.

Do you have friends or family coming down from Anchorage? Did you know there is a SMAF train this year and the price is a steal at $125 per person round-trip? The train departs from the Anchorage depot on Saturday morning, enjoying an onboard musical performance by Emma Hill before arriving in Seward in the early afternoon. Free shuttle service will be provided from the Seward Rail Depot to the Seward Music & Arts Festival and around Seward both Saturday & Sunday. You’ll have plenty of time to explore the festival before the mid-afternoon return rail journey on Sunday, featuring an onboard performance by Syran.

Please join us for this remarkable event!
